ABOUT

PSYCHOSEXUAL THERAPY

As part of my commitment to further professional development, I am working towards registration as a Clinical Sexologist and Relationship Therapist.

In the UK, practising psychosexual therapists should be trained with a minimum of two years in a post-graduate diploma, plus a minimum of 200 supervised hours. I am currently completing my clinical hours within the NHS and I am registered with the UK’s leading membership organisation for therapists specialising in sexual and relationship issues, the College of Sexual and Relationship Therapists (COSRT).

Psychosexual therapy gives you the place to talk about your sexual self without fear of judgement or shame. I work in a pluralistic way, ensuring an understanding and exploration of the biological, psychological and social aspects of the sexual issue you may be facing.

The aim of psychosexual therapy is to help you improve the physical intimacy between you and your partner(s) and to overcome or manage any sexual difficulties you’re having. Whatever your gender, sexual orientation or relationship status, sex therapy can support you to feel more comfortable about getting intimate.

Having sexual difficulties can feel very isolating. You may feel self-conscious and unable to speak up about them, whether that’s having an honest conversation with your partner(s) or reaching out to a professional. The truth is, sexual problems are very common and the best way to tackle them is to talk about them.

I am a sex-positive and pleasure-positive therapist, meaning that I respect and welcome individuals of all sexual orientations, gender identities, relationship constellations and practises (including those from LGBTQ+, kink and polyamorous communities). I work with individuals around themes including:

  • Consensual non-monogamy

  • Specific sexual interests (BDSM, kinks and fetishes)

  • Sexual compulsions and pornography issues

  • Orgasm problems

  • Vaginismus, Dyspareunia, Anodyspareunia

  • Erection/ejaculation problems

  • Low sexual desire, challenges with desire and loss of arousal

  • Sexual desire discrepancies

  • Pain during sex and penetration difficulties

  • Sexual trauma, sexual abuse and assault

  • Relationship problems e.g. arguing / affairs / communication

  • Sex, gender, erotic and relationship identity concerns

  • Questioning and/or exploring sexuality
